twelveNYC

This month's installment of our Community Spotlight series features Brooklyn-based merchandising and product design firm, twelveNYC. twelveNYC is a 100% women-owned business that provides merchandising design and production to internationally-renowned brands. Some of their clients have included Sephora, Gap Inc., and Uber, among others.

twelveNYC was introduced to Beam Center by a member of our Board of Trustees, Juliette Adams in 2021 and since then Beam and twelveNYC have been collaborating to empower youth across NYC. twelveNYC has generously supported Beam through donations of incredible swag such as shirts, hats, lanyards, bandanas, and water bottles for Beam Camp City, as well as monetary donations, and this summer, they hosted two of our youth from our Externship Enterprise. Speaking about the collaboration Laura Tuoni, Director of Development and Sourcing at twelveNYC wrote, “through organic conversation, we quickly realized that the underlying core values at twelveNYC aligned with the core values of Beam. From there, we dug into the possibilities of support and collaboration and it budded into the strong partnership it is today.”

twelveNYC was founded by Katie Conovitz in 2005, and now has offices in Brooklyn, London, Hong Kong, and Paris. twelveNYC was founded with the intention to provide consumers with a palpable experience by creating a business model that intersects a brand’s story and its tangible products. To quote Katie, “Our belief is simple: well-designed product solidifies brand loyalty, seeds customer engagement, and actively reinforces a brand narrative.” To learn more about twelveNYC visit their website.

During the summer of 2021 twelveNYC staff members volunteered at Beam Camp City on Governors Island and also attended one of our fundraising events, the annual Gala. Speaking about her experience at Beam Camp City Laura wrote “Observing the growth in both the youth and the installations they created during Beam Camp was amazing. Youth and staff alike embody so much talent and enthusiasm.” Laura also wrote about her experience at our 2022 annual Gala, Branching out with Beam, and said it was “amazing” to be part of and contribute to Beam’s annual Gala. “Hearing from the guest speakers really brings it all full circle and proves that our support can make a difference and largely that what Beam does makes a tremendous impact on its youth, staff, partners, and community.”

When asked what she thinks is unique about Beam Center, Laura wrote “Beam empowers youth and provides them with skill sets that set them up for successful, bright futures. We've noticed that Beam provides a safe, fun, and one-of-a-kind experience for its youth and it's a joy to witness and be a part of.”

We are grateful to have a strong, diverse community of supporters like twelveNYC that help us empower young people across NYC and who help make Beam what it is today.
