Daniel Kahn Chair—BeamCenter Co-Founder,Owner/Cross Road Productions
Daniel graduated from the University of Wisconsin with degrees in Communication & Philosophy. He was a pioneer in public radio before establishing a career in the record industry in NYC, first at Nonesuch Records and then moving to Elektra Records where he directed artist development, and met Brian Cohen. Since 1995, Daniel has owned his own management firm, Cross Road Productions, where he represents a number of internationally known performers, including Rosanne Cash. He brings an expertise in production, development, and an innate talent sense to the Beam Center, which he cofounded alongside Brian Cohen in 2011. Danny and Brian also cofounded Beam Camp, now a program of Beam Center, which they have run together since 2005.
Fabian Jabro Secretary—Partner, Standard Architects
Fabian received his Bachelor of Architecture from University of Kansas and has worked at Standard Architects for the past 18 years, a design-focused firm working on diverse projects including planning, mixed use development, multifamily projects, single family residences and interiors, as well as commercial buildings and interiors. In conjunction with architecture and planning, they provide services for landscape design, furniture, lighting, and graphics. Prior to his work at Standard, Fabian was the owner and lead fabricator of Architecture.Building.Construction, a design build company with projects ranging from furniture to apartment renovations. A support of Beam since 2005, Fabian has been an integral partner in formulating the Beam Camp practice of collaboration. His firm Standard Architects designed Beam Camp’s facility in Strafford, NH in 2006.
Peter Wright Treasurer—Owner/CEO, Virtual Label
Peter founded Virtual Label LLC in 2003 as a service company for artists and independent labels offering access to physical and digital distribution, management, marketing and consulting services. Virtual represents a wide range of artists including Alexi Murdoch, Sean Lennon, Andrew Bird, The Handsome Family, The Sonics, Sun Ra and Swans as well as leading independent labels such as ROIR, Pressure Sounds, Cumbancha and Proper. In addition, Peter is chair of the American Association for Independent Music’s Digital Media & Emerging Technologies Committee and chair of the Board of Trustees for the not-for-profit Archive of Contemporary Music.
Kathy Larchian—Owner, Pensa
Kathy Larchian is the cofounder and partner of Pensa LLC, a product design consulting firm, as well as cofounder and partner of Pens Labs Inc, the inventors of the DIWire Bender. She has been managing creative firms since 1994. She's a rare find — a business head with a true understanding of how to foster and sustain a creative group. Kathy embraces change, the entrepreneurial spirit and the challenges that come with each. She has a BA in Anthropology and Spanish from NYU, and an MBA in Management, Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship from Stern School of Business.
Mike is a multidisciplinary visual communication designer working in the areas of print design, branding, information graphics, presentation design, illustration, UX and web design. Mike synthesizes and organizes complex concepts into comprehensible information graphics and storytelling components. Over the past 12 years he has provided design services to many clients including: Nestle, Target, Nike, Neiman Marcus, Discover, Toyota, Marriott, and GM. As an art and design enthusiast, Mike is a member of the Brooklyn Collage Collective and regularly shows his collage work (www.michaeldesutter.com) throughout NYC. Mike has a BA in Art Studies with a concentration in Photography from Purdue University.
