Honoring Fabian Jabro

As we count down to the Beam Benefit Brunch in May, we want to shine our light on this year’s honoree, Fabian Jabro. Fabian has been a Beam inspiration from the very beginning, and he’s been a part of our community through our many evolutions. Fabian is a founding Principal of Standard Architects, and he brings to that role a decade’s experience as a builder.

As our co-founders’ first collaborator at Beam Camp, Fabian drafted site plans for any property under consideration for lease or purchase and supported our search for a home for camp. He also designed the first Beam Camp project, Nexus Canopy, and taught our co-founders how to build it with the support of campers.

In 2007, Fabian and his firm, Standard Architects, designed the renovation and new construction for Beam Camp’s current location in New Hampshire, leaving yet another profound mark on our organization’s history. In 2011, Fabian joined the team as our third member of the Board of Trustees, allowing Beam Center to incorporate as a non-profit organization. Since then, Fabian has served as a source of guidance, inspiration, and support through Beam’s continued growth.

Founding the firm in 1996, Fabian has helped lead the team at Standard Architects through their hundreds of clients on renovation and new construction projects ranging in both scale and scope. Their projects have included family homes, corporate offices, Little Island in New York City, and Nutrabolt’s headquarters in Texas. As a hands-on Principal involved in all of the firm’s projects, Fabian helps keep the firm focused on collaboration and project diversity.

As we appreciate the inspiring work we do with young people and those who inspire us in this work, we celebrate and honor Fabian. Beam Center would not be what we are today without his dedication and support. We invite you to join us in honoring Fabian on Sunday, May 21 at Rule of Thirds in Brooklyn at our Beam Benefit Brunch. In helping us thank him for his contributions to Beam Center, you can support our continued work with youth across NYC.
