Kyle Luntz
Beam’s November 2021 installment of our Staff Spotlight series featured Beam Project Designer and schools team lead, Kyle Luntz. As a Project Designer, Kyle helps develop and facilitate Beam’s Fundamentals and Advanced school-based projects, including an Escape Room, Future Humans, and Boomboxes.
In addition to all of his work for Beam, Kyle is an interdisciplinary artist, self-taught musician, instrument maker, and programmer. His practice involves creating interactive installations and performances, and his approach favors low-cost materials and open-source software to invite others to discover and create.
For the last two summers, Kyle has served as an Artist-in-Residence at the 4heads arts organization’s Residency Program on Governors Island. Summer 2021 creations included Moving Through Time, an interactive sound piece that uses a visitor’s position in the room to play one of Kyle’s own musical compositions.
